“We hired Corrie to assist us with a complex, multi-party mediation. She did an amazing job of listening to the parties’ concerns, helping us reach consensus, and placing our agreement into a legally enforceable document that was clear and concise. I was quite impressed.”
Using Mediation to Resolve Disputes Outside of the Courtroom
Mediation is a great option for those looking to resolve a dispute outside of the courtroom in a confidential and respectful setting. The process allows the parties involved to play a direct and active role in developing mutually satisfactory options to resolve conflict. Mediation is most often used in domestic relations, property and employment/ labor disputes. However, many types of dispute can be mediated. Disputes may involve two parties or many.
The Law Office of Corrie J. Bosman practices facilitative mediation that focuses on interests, rather than on legal rights alone. This form of mediation allows for a fuller range of issues to be addressed (both legal and non-legal ones) and for greater flexibility in crafting outcomes responsive to the parties’ needs.
Ms. Bosman was trained in alternate dispute at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She also completed a 40- hour mediation training with Mediation Works Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts with a focus on family law issues and completed a specialized training in mediating issues with vulnerable adults. Ms. Bosman has extensive experience mediating with the Alaska Court System’s Child Custody and Visitation Program and the Adult Guardianship and Conservatorship Mediation Programs, as well as for private matters.
